ACCESSIBLE BUSINESS ENTRANCE PROGRAM & WORKSHOP

January 16, 2018

A new law in San Francisco (Ordinance No. 51-16), requires property and business owners make all primary entrances to their businesses accessible for people with disabilities. On January 24, the Department of Building Inspection is hosting a FREE educational workshop regarding the Accessible Business Program. The workshop will be held at 1660 Mission Street in Room 2001 from 12:00 to 1:00PM. Click here to register.

The Accessible Business Entrance (ABE) program helps property owners comply with state and federal accessibility laws and helps people with disabilities gain greater access to goods and services offered by businesses in San Francisco. Passed by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 2016 (Ordinance No. 51-16), the ordinance requires that existing buildings with a place of “public accommodation” have all primary entrances accessible for people with disabilities. If your business serves the public, this program may apply to you.

The first deadline for compliance is May 23, 2018. Property owners and operators - here's your opportunity to learn about this new program and how you can comply:
