ISMA Focus Areas and Accomplishments on Behalf of Merchant Members

 

Events: Sponsorship of local events, such as fairs, art walks, holiday celebrations, in collaboration with neighborhood groups, including Inner Sunset Park Neighbors

Neighborhood Guide: ISMA’s primary neighborhood marketing piece for three years to raise awareness of our commercial corridor.

Active voice in legislative activity:

• Transit initiatives, including MUNI sign changes, Irving Street Repaving, Golden Gate Park entrance design and DPW Street Ambassadors

• Supervisor London Breed neighborhood Walk-About

• Pilot neighborhood for City’s Fix-It initiative, focusing on quality-of-life issues for residents and merchants

• Cultivate institutional relationships: Maintain open communication with local institutions including UCSF, De Young Museum and Academy of Sciences

 

Networking: Host periodic mixers for business-to-business exchange among members
